College History

Malda Women’s College was established in the year 1970 to cater to the needs of education in the district keeping in mind the issue of women empowerment through education. Dr. Madhuri Goswami was the first Teacher in charge of this college who was succeeded by Dr. Sujata Bhowmick in 1972. Initially it was registered under the University of North Bengal which subsequently changed its affiliation in 2007 with the establishment of the University of Gour Banga. With a sprawling green campus and eco-friendly environment, it has got enough reasons to evoke pride. Efforts are on to strive further in the world of academia so that the college along with its alumni can curve an illustrious niche in many fields.
