About Library


The Malda Women’s College Central library was started functioning in the year 1970. The library caters to the educational and research needs of the academic community of the College. The College Library has a very unique and rich collection of books, periodicals, journals and E-resources (N-List). There are more than 27500 books (including reference books) and more than 32 printed journals and 6 newspapers. The libraries also have a good reading room for teachers and students in around 50 seating capacity. The Central Library has been partly computerized using integrated library management software KOHA. The Online Public Access Catalogue (web-OPAC) facility is available where users can search the library collection. The library enlightens the academic community with rich and relevant information resources in order to support their teaching, research, and learning activities.

Mission

The primary mission of the library is to support the educational and research programs of the College by providing access to rich print and digital e-resources. The College library is designed to cater the College’s present and future teaching-learning and research interest.
